with author Richard Brookhiser
From abortion to gun rights and campaign finance, our lives today are directly affected by the decisions made by the United States Supreme Court. The heated battle over the Kavanaugh confirmation only underscores how much power the court wields, and how deeply entwined it is in partisan politics. But the Supreme Court didn’t always have such sway. Join us for an evening with celebrated biographer and NRI fellow Richard Brookhiser as he traces John Marshall’s career through landmark decisions and explain how he transformed the Supreme Court into a central pillar of American life.
NRI’s 1955 Society members will receive complimentary admission and are invited to join the author for a private dinner following the event.
